Meet the Maker

A big warm welcome to Fair Cake Candles.

My name is Uma and I hand pour all our candles in Brighton. I own a very popular cake school ( Fair Cake) in Brighton, where I teach how to bake and decorate cakes. I started pouring candles in February 2024 whilst recovering from hand surgery.

The sense of smell is very closely linked to memory it is my mission to bring you candles that invoke happy memories of days gone by. Maybe the smell of your favourite vanilla cake that nanna used to bake, or perhaps the tiramisu you ate whilst on your honeymoon in Italy, or the smell of the earth after the first rains whilst you were on a family holiday. I have tried to recreate these scents using the finest fragrance oils. I have also created a small range of essential oil candles that will be the perfect comforting candle at the end of the end of your day.

All our candles are made using 100% soy wax, fine fragrance oils, essential oil blends and finished off with wood wicks or cotton wicks giving you a clean burning candle that is suitable for the most sensitive of noses. I hope you enjoy the candles as much as I've enjoyed making them.
