FAQs

How do candles improve relaxation?

Candles help set a calming atmosphere through soft light and soothing fragrance. The ritual of lighting a candle signals a transition to a more mindful moment, reduces stress, and supports slower breathing and relaxation. Pairing this with meditation or deep breathing enhances the effect.

Are aromatherapy candles the same as scented candles?

Not exactly. All aromatherapy candles are scented, but not all scented candles are aromatherapy candles. Aromatherapy candles specifically use essential oils chosen for their potential mood and wellbeing benefits, whereas scented candles might use fragrance oils primarily for pleasant scent.

Can crackling candles enhance meditation?

Yes - the gentle, natural crackle of a wooden wick can deepen a meditation or relaxation ritual by engaging your senses, creating a grounding, comforting ambience that mimics nature.

What scent is best for stress relief?

Aromas like lavender, bergamot, sandalwood, and earthy rain or wood notes are frequently used in aromatherapy for stress relief because they support relaxation and emotional balance.

Are coconut soy candles better for relaxation?

Coconut soy candles burn cleanly and release fragrance steadily, making them ideal for relaxation routines. Their longer burn time and fewer soot emissions keep the air clearer, enhancing a calming environment.

Which candle scents are most calming?

Scents often considered calming include lavender, cedarwood, chamomile, vanilla, and earthy notes. These help reduce stress and create a sense of peace during relaxation or meditation.

Are scented candles good for mindfulness?

Yes — scented candles can support mindfulness by anchoring attention through smell, helping you stay present, and enhancing calm. The act of lighting a candle and breathing in soothing aromas can deepen meditation and reduce stress.

What are the best candles for meditation?

Candles with natural waxes and calming essential oil blends (like lavender, cedarwood, or bergamot) are excellent for meditation. Even neutral, clean‑burning scented candles help create a tranquil space and support focus.

What are your candles made from?

Our candles are hand-poured in Brighton using a natural coconut soy wax blend and high-quality fragrance oils and essential oils. They are non-toxic and clean burning.

Are the candles safe to use around pets and children?

Yes, our candles are made with non-toxic ingredients. However, as with any open flame, they should always be kept out of reach of children and pets.

How long do the candles burn for?

Each candle offers a long-lasting burn time of approximately 35–40 hours, depending on the size and how well the wick is maintained.

Do you offer gift options or sets?

Yes, we offer discovery sets which make beautiful gifts. You can also include a personalised message at checkout.

How should I care for my candle?

Trim the wick to around 5mm before each burn and allow the candle to melt across the surface to avoid tunnelling. You can find more tips in our Candle Care guide.

Are your candles vegan and cruelty-free?

Absolutely. All of our candles are vegan-friendly and never tested on animals.

Can I reuse the candle jars?

Yes, once the candle has finished, the jars can be cleaned and repurposed as storage containers, plant pots, or decorative pieces.
